Cleaning up Bisbee parks may seem like an attack on those who revitalized Bisbee back in the 60's and 70's but it isn't. There is a difference. The immigrants of the 60's and 70's elevated a dying town, bringing energy and a new creative direction; they left a larger society behind to find a different approach to life. For the majority drugs were experimental and recreational. These new arrivals are not younger versions of us, for them drugs aren't experimental or recreational but a total ...

Governments will collapse because of a monetary system that has been abused by everybody. This won't be a recession but a huge world changing depression that will last 10 years.

County, state and national issues are still upcoming, of course, but controversial Bisbee figures have all had their day before the voters, and those decisions have already been made.

So for now, I guess, there's not much to talk about. Life goes on.

But soon, no doubt, more Bisbee controversies will bubble up, and the Gulch Gestapo will take another shot at relevancy, and there will be more to debate, so it will be good to have this forum ...

Totse.com was first created as a dialup bulletin board in 1989 and at one time boasted the world's largest internet acessable text file archive. By the time I came to it, however, it had migrated to the worldwide web. Totse began as a haven for radicals and for electronic copies of the anarchist's cookbook, but blossomed into a clearinghouse ...

The Kwanzaa movement may offer a solution. There, a need was seen and a brand new ceremony and social institution was created. Instead of a marriage, why not a pairage? Instead of a wedding why not a blending? Creating a legal identity for such terms, along with the rights and responsibilities is a ...

There is no reason why we need to know who is posting anymore than we need to know how people vote. Thank god for forums which don't require registration or the approval of a board or administration in order to gain registration or post an opinion. Those who demand to know who is posting are like those who want to remove the privacy of the ballot box. Only those who must resort to threats or intimidation in order to control things need either.

Since when is asking for direction from a department head for the purpose of clarification a violation of the sunshine law? Asking for clarification of an employee is hardly the same as meeting privately with another voting member outside of the view of the public. If we begin to classify those as a violation you soon won't be able to ask for directions to the bathroom with out doing it in a public session. Hope they have a lot of those scheduled!

Several noted economists have seen a pattern that looks somewhat unusual. A strong sell off is occurring in the last few hours of trading each day, limiting recovery or adjustment and fueling greater concern for the following day of trading. Is this trend just a coincidence or is it a plan to crank up greater fears and ruin global economy? Apparently it is driving an investigation into who and why. Comments?

We have some very dysfunctional posting criticizing Bisbee politics, its residents and past residents in our forums. It isn’t the opinions, personal politics, or age of the poster that is responsible, it is the poster’s absolute intransigence and ability to hold civil discourse. They no longer query or discuss, they speak in absolutes. Though intelligent enough to know and use multi-syllabic words their personal intransigence and name calling makes it almost impossible for them to be eloquent. ...

Has this election taught our local critics anything? Will they learn their views can be expressed without an adversarial position being adopted? Can they accept that there are other positions that might be advantageous for them to hear? Can they finally understand that attacking people who offer an opposing view doesn’t enhance their position but only isolates them? I would like to hear from them.

It’s obvious something has been affecting potential attendees, but what? Was it just the adult focused entertainment? I think the answer to that question may be as obvious as the number of negative comments appearing on Topix. People took steps to avoid what they were ...

more than a cursory glance. There is no doubt given his level of education that

management and administration yet the reality is he had to declare indigents

with the court. He deplores the high school drop out and gloats over the

mistakes of others as an embarrassment yet finds no shame in a life far less productive

Bisbee is losing a great mayor, someone who has a passion for this city and who was concerned with the big picture. The remaining candidates aren't even close to matching his conviction and vision, and Bisbee is the loser for this.

After a rough start 4 years ago he learned a lot about how government works and became a huge proponent of this community at the local, state, and international levels. ...
