Getting historic designation is a plus, it may create a temporary expense but the long term benefits and the additional grant money it would allow outweighs the inconvenience or expense of the new survey they require.

Hats off to Ken Budge for his remarks.

Make that read:

Getting streets paved inWarren is a plus, it may create a temporary expense but the long term benefits....blah, blah, blah....outweighs the inconvenience or expense......

Why $6,000 now? What's the rush?
These are not rhetorical questions.

Historic designation is a good thing. It is an important step in preventing new arrivals from changing Bisbee in ways we do not want. I think it also opens up all kinds of funding we wouldn't have access to otherwise.

tom says: .......it also opens up all kinds of funding we wouldn't have access to otherwise.

SO it is better to open up funding for historic preservation than to use our own money to fix what's broke?

Ever see those coupon books that charities sell for 25. They do cost a bit upfront but they also have enough free stuff inside they are worth it. The difference is a long view and not a short one.
