Codes, Charters, and Sunshine Laws
Since when is asking for direction from a department head for the purpose of clarification a violation of the sunshine law? Asking for clarification of an employee is hardly the same as meeting privately with another voting member outside of the view of the public. If we begin to classify those as a violation you soon won't be able to ask for directions to the bathroom with out doing it in a public session. Hope they have a lot of those scheduled!
Sounds to me as if this whole thing is an over reaction. Bringing the codes in line with the charter isn't changing a thing except in the minds of those who never bothered reading either.
