What is it about the idea of background investigations that has moved people to check out this thread over 600 times? That says a lot about something but what?

There are those who believe, apparently, that checking out someone's background is the worst crime possible - more despicable and low than anything that the person being investigated could possibly have done.

With that in mind (this idea that the investigator is always the "real" bad guy) you have to wonder if Jeff Harris has refused to verify his work & educational credentials because he WANTS to trigger a background investigation, hopefully by or involving the hated employees and/or elected officials of the City, so he can then proclaim (yet again) that they are all criminal and corrupt.

It sounds like the basis for multiple birthdates and different name spellings might simply be galloping paranoia and a fear of the world. Maybe someone sees danger and bad guys out to get them.
